So….yeah. Um. Hi?
I have eaten since March, I promise. Blogged? No. In fact I deleted my other one entirely. That whole “I hate the internet and blogging and want to become emo” or something thing, that. Or else it was alcohol and women. Or maybe the trip to France and the crack addiction.
Whatever.
Some things I’m not going to blog about, but were delicious that have occurred recently include:
-pastrami. I smoked this with about twice the normal hickory and it is ridiculously good. Note for next time. More smoke. Roomie and I were too hungry to take pics, but feel free to be jealous, it was redonkulously good stuff.
-brisket. BBQ IS a vegetable, damnit.
-way too much cheese, the roomie is getting a huge food education. Infamous quote of the eon: me “Which cheeses do you like the best?” her “The man and the Pecker.” I managed to not laugh for about 3 seconds. PS, Manchego and Peccorino, pervs.
-limettacello. Coming soon. May spend a post on this at some point.
-lemon confit. Also coming soon. Also may write an entry on this.
-blueberry and cherry infused vodkas. Trying to come up with a cherry sour drink recipe still. Will want to try raspberry next and do raspberry mojitos with that.
-Did I mention cheese?
-the wonders of 2 cups of duck fat and you. Brought to you by ridiculous reasons to cook a duck. Refrigerated, you can scoop it like lard and it melts with such a delicious smell. Highly recommended for anyone who’s not afraid of animals as a source of food.
-I wrapped bacon around something in the mean time, I’m sure.
-Prosciutto wrapped shrimp. Sprinkle with some red pepper flakes underneath for a hidden kick.
-errr….I’ve been enjoying way too much cheese.
-Kilts are awesome and should make a come back for men.
-Deep fried goat cheese. Must try this again.
-mixed up a batch of Zydrate.
-drank a natty light. (note: I do NOT drink beer, so this was rather epic)
-had way too many crepe sucre’s in Paris. Soooo glad we don’t have those here.
-Also the ganache filled macaroon from the baker in the street stall was about the most delicious cookie I’ve ever eaten, so good i’d slap your mom.
-Enjoyed my “Royal With Bacon” at McDonald’s France. McDonald’s America, you suck.
-Scallops with Quail Eggs and sweet corn sauce. Stolen from ZenChef, and delicious.
In short, I’m a lazy sack and promise to update at least once a month. Also, I’m being asked to help a wine blog get going, so that might steal some time. Bite me, you love wine too, and will read it as well.
